We loved staying in Subrane! It was perfect for our needs. We stayed here in July and just adored being so handy for the village but being in such a private peaceful spot. It is very special indeed. If you do stay here make sure you explore the lanes and walks between the villages. I loved walking up to both Montauroux and Callian. For us it is a joy to be able to walk to a village to get our baguettes and pastries in the morning without having to take the car. 
The villa and its furnishings are high quality and well maintained. The main room downstairs is gorgeous and furnished so much better than the average holiday rental. It was World Cup season and the big flat screen TV and sooo comfy sofas really came into their own! The pool area is gorgeous and the view from the infinity edge pool of the mountains all around will take your breath away. It really is a “pinch me I’m dreaming” experience when you first swim in the pool and look around you. The terrace also has amazing views. The gardens and grounds are nice but you get a shock when you walk on the lovely green “English” looking grass - its fake!
We slept in the two upstairs bedrooms with our daughter and had guests in the two downstairs bedrooms. The upstairs is a little more cramped but with its own bathroom is very private and suited us well. (The villa doesn’t have an ensuite bathroom.) 
All in all a very comfortable villa that we would recommend.
